The winter holiday season may be behind us, but it’s never too late to share a good deed. Our local companies also find ways to give back, Abstract Display’s corporate culture is focused on giving back year round. Their annual Toys for Tots effort successful brings in hundreds of toys each year.
Abstract Displays, a trade show exhibit company, held its annual Open House on Dec. 9 and 10, 2008. The event was held in the Abstract Displays 3600 sq ft. exhibit showroom in Blue Ash, with close to 120 prospects and clients in attendance. The event celebrated the Company’s anniversary, December 5th, and showcased the new technologies and services that are now available (some exclusively through Abstract Displays). Special drawings were held for a new Wii game system, an iPod, and a weekend trip for two to Glen Laurel in Hocking Hills.
As part of the event, attendees and employees were asked to donate a toy and book to the U.S. Marine’s Toys for Tots Campaign throughout the two- day event; nearly 300 items were donated, which were distributed to needy families in the greater Cincinnati area. Marines were present each day of the event to accept the gifts.
“The open house is such a special event for us each year. It’s an opportunity to celebrate our anniversary and the season with our clients, and provides an opportunity to show clients some of our newer services and exhibit technologies,” says Carla Eng, President. “It started out very small a few years ago and has now become an annual event that clients really look forward to”.
Abstract Displays also shared the magic of the holidays by providing and serving breakfast for residents at the Ronald McDonald House at The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. It was the first time Abstract Displays employees volunteered for the organization and will definitely go back. The families were so appreciative to have a hot breakfast ready for them. “We have been so blessed both individually and as a company, and wanted to share our blessings to make the holidays special for others,” said Ms. Eng.
There are plans to expand both donation programs in 2009.
